BOURBON CARAMEL PECAN PIE

with homemade caramel sauce

WHY YOU'LL 🖤 THIS PECAN PIE

- This pie is make-ahead. - It's perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas! - It has homemade pie crust and caramel. The best! - It's not too sweet. - Everyone loves it!

THE INGREDIENTS

- Sugar - Butter - Heavy cream - Bourbon - Salt - Pie dough

- Pecans - Brown sugar - Eggs - Vanilla extract - Ice cream

01 BOURBON CARAMEL

Cook the sugar in a pan until it's melted & deep amber. Remove the caramel from the heat, and add the butter, whipping cream, bourbon, and salt. Let it cool.

02 PIE CRUST

Fold the homemade or store-bought pie dough into a pie plate & crimp. Using pie weights, blind bake the pie crust until it's golden brown. Brush the par-baked crust with egg wash.

03 PECAN FILLING

Mix the bourbon caramel sauce, brown sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, & pecans. Pour into the pie crust & bake until it's set. Let it cool.

04 ENJOY!

Garnish the pie with leftover caramel sauce & flaky salt.

Serve the pie with homemade whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

MAKE-AHEAD

To make this pie in advance, let it cool at room temperature. Then, store in the fridge for up to 2 days. Let it warm for 1-2 hours before serving.

CAN I USE STORE-BOUGHT PIE DOUGH?

Yes, you definitely can use store-bought pie dough if you don't have time to make homemade! Just pre-bake the pie dough according to this recipe's instructions.

TIP!

For a smoother filling, chop up all of the pecans. If you want a pretty design, use half chopped pecans and arrange halved pecans on top of the pie!
