CARDAMOM CAKE

with coffee buttercream

THE INGREDIENTS

- Flour - Baking powder & salt - Cardamom - Butter - Sugar - Eggs - Sour cream - Oil - Vanilla - Milk - Instant coffee - Powdered sugar

MAKE THE BATTER

1. Whisk together the dry ingredients. 2. Cream the butter & sugar. Add the eggs, sour cream, oil, & vanilla. 3. Add the flour mixture & milk in 2 batches until combined.

BAKE THE CAKES

1. Line 3 cake pans with parchment. 2. Divide the cardamom cake batter between the cake pans. 3. Bake the cakes just until an inserted toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

MAKE THE FROSTING

1. Combine the coffee & milk until smooth. 2. Cream the butter & powdered sugar until a thick frosting forms. 3. Add the coffee-milk, vanilla, & salt. Beat until fluffy.

ASSEMBLE

1. Layer the cooled cakes with the coffee buttercream. 2. Frost the outside of the cake & decorate the as desired. 3. Slice the cake & enjoy!
