CRISPY FRIZZLED ONIONS

for topping or snacking!

WHY YOU'LL 🖤 THESE ONIONS

- They're super crunchy. - Use them on sandwiches or burgers. Eat them as an appetizer with aioli! They're shallow fried. No deep frying required!

- sweet onions - buttermilk - flour - garlic & onion powder - paprika & cayenne - salt & pepper - oil

01 SLICE

Start by slicing the onions. Peel the onions and cut them in half. Then, use a mandoline to thinly and evenly cut the onions into 1/8'' slices.

02 MARINATE

Place the onions in a bowl. Add the buttermilk & stir to coat all of the onions. Marinate 15-60 minutes.

03 WHISK

Meanwhile, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Whisk to mix it all together.

04 DREDGE

Use tongs to grab a handful of onions. Let extra buttermilk drip off. Dredge the onions in the flour mixture until coated.

05 FRY

Heat the oil in a 12'' skillet until it's very hot. Working a few at a time, fry the onions until crispy. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.

SERVING IDEAS

- USE THEM ON BURGERS OR SANDWICHES - SPRINKLE OVER SALADS OR FRIED EGGS - TOP THEM ON BBQ - EAT AS AN APPETIZER!

FREEZING & REHEATING

You can easily freeze the leftovers so you always have French fried onions on hand! Just reheat them in the air fryer or oven until they're nice and crispy.

TIP!

For super crispy onion straws, make sure the oil is properly heated. You want the oil to be between 350-375°F for the best results!
