Pine nuts Green beans Olive oil & butter Shallot Garlic Red pepper flakes Lemons Salt & pepper

01 SIMMER

Toast the pine nuts. Place the green beans in a skillet. Add water, cover, & simmer for 3-4 minutes. Remove the lid and cook until crisp-tender, 3-4 minutes.

02 SAUTÉ

Make a well in the center of the green beans. Melt the butter & olive oil. Add the shallots & garlic. Sauté until soft & browned on the edges.

03 SEASON

Stir in the red pepper flakes, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt & pepper. Spoon onto a platter and garnish with the pine nuts.

If you want to make this recipe in advance, just undercook the green beans a tad. Then, keep them warm in a low oven until you’re ready to serve and enjoy.
