MARINATED MOZZARELLA BALLS

with basil and lemon

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS EASY APPETIZER

It's takes 5 minutes to make. They're a huge crowd-pleaser! They're perfect for parties or holidays. They only have a handful of ingredients.

INGREDIENTS

- MOZZARELLA BALLS - OLIVE OIL - GARLIC - BASIL - LEMON ZEST - LEMON JUICE - RED PEPPER FLAKES - KOSHER SALT

01

Whisk together the olive oil, garlic, basil, lemon zest, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, and salt in a small bowl.

02

Drain the liquid from the mozzarella balls & place them in a bowl or jar. Pour the marinade over the cheese & stir to combine.

03

Cover the jar or bowl and place the mozzarella balls in the refrigerator.

Marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

TIP!

I recommend using Ciliegine "cherry size" mozzarella balls - they're the perfect bite size! If you can't find them, cube large balls of mozzarella instead.

SERVING IDEAS

Serve with crackers, bread, or crostini.

Make Caprese skewers with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil.

Use them on a cheese or charcuterie board.

STORAGE & MAKE-AHEAD

To store the leftover marinated cheese, place the balls in a sealed jar or airtight container for 4-5 days. You can also make this recipe in advance up to 5 days before serving!
