OVEN-ROASTED TOMATO SAUCE

- super easy - takes 5 minutes of prep - uses just a handful of staple ingredients - tastes way better than anything you'd buy from the store!

INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED

- tomatoes - garlic - shallots - olive oil - oregano, red pepper flakes, thyme, & basil - butter - salt & pepper

Place the tomatoes, garlic, & onions on a sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil & sprinkle the oregano, pepper flakes, salt, pepper, & thyme on top.

Roast until the veggies are soft and fragrant. Stir in the basil and roast for another few minutes until it's wilted. Toss with butter & remove the thyme.

Blend or mash the sauce with a potato masher until it's it's as smooth or chunky as you like. 

Tip - remove the seeds from the tomatoes for a smoother sauce.

Pour the tomato sauce into a jar. Freeze for up to 3 months or refrigerate for up to 1 week. Serve with pasta, meatballs, etc.!

FREEZER-FRIENDLY

To freeze this sauce, pour it into a freezer-safe jar. Place the lid on top, seal it well, and freeze for up to 3 months. Leave space at the top for the sauce to expand.
