BRAISED PORK RAGÙ WITH GNOCCHI

YOU'LL LOVE GNOCCHI AL RAGÙ

This recipe is full of flavor. It's easy but so impressive. Make it in the oven or the slow cooker. It makes a large batch for a crowd of people.

INGREDIENTS

- Chairman’s Reserve Prime® boneless pork shoulder - Salt & pepper - Oil - Onion, carrots, & celery - Garlic - Rosemary, thyme, & oregano - Tomato paste - Red wine - Crushed tomatoes - Chicken broth - Milk - Bay leaf - Gnocchi - Parmesan

First, heat some neutral oil in a large pot. Sear the Chairman’s Reserve Prime® boneless pork shoulder until it's golden-brown.

Sauté the onions, carrots, celery,  garlic, rosemary, thyme, & oregano. Stir in the tomato paste & deglaze the pan with red wine.

Add the tomatoes, chicken broth, milk, and a bay leaf. Then, nestle the pork into the sauce.

Bring to a boil & move to the oven. Braise for about 3 hours.

Once the pork is fork tender, remove the bay leaf & discard. Shred the pork with 2 forks. Season with salt & pepper.

Cook the gnocchi according to package directions. Combine the gnocchi and pork ragù. Serve with Parmesan & parsley.

SLOW COOKER VERSION

To make slow cooker pork ragù, add the seared pork and sauce to the bowl of a slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours. Serve with gnocchi.

SERVING IDEAS

Serve with pasta like pappardelle or penne.
