SIMPLE RICE PILAF WITH ORZO

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS RICE

It's quick & easy. The recipe only has a handful of ingredients. It's delicious with any main meal! This rice is perfect for holidays, weeknights, & dinner parties.

INGREDIENTS

- BUTTER - SHALLOTS - ORZO PASTA - LONG GRAIN WHITE RICE - GARLIC - HERBS (ROSEMARY & THYME) - VEGGIE BROTH - KOSHER SALT - PEPPER

Sauté the shallot in butter. Then, toast the rice & orzo. Add the rosemary, thyme, & garlic & cook until the mixture is fragrant.

Add the veggie broth to the rice-orzo mixture. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, & cover. Cook until the rice is tender.

Once the rice is cooked, let it sit for about 5 minutes. Add butter, salt, and pepper. Gently stir everything to combine.

TIP!

To make this rice even more flavorful, try adding:   - Mushrooms   - Peas   - Almonds or pine nuts

SERVING IDEAS

Roasted whole chicken or chicken thighs

Pot roast, beef stroganoff, or grilled steak

Braised ragù or bolognese

CAN I MAKE THIS RECIPE WITHOUT ORZO?

Yes! If you don't have orzo, or if you want to make the recipe gluten-free, you can just replace the orzo with more long-grain white rice.
