SMOKED TRI-TIP

in a smoker or on the grill!

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS TRI-TIP

It's tender, juicy, & flavorful! This is an easy recipe for BBQs or parties. Use it in sandwiches, tacos, & more! Make it on a smoker or gas grill.

INGREDIENTS

YOU ONLY NEED TWO INGREDIENTS TO MAKE THIS EASY TRI-TIP! - TRI-TIP ROAST - BBQ RUB - YOU CAN USE EITHER STORE-BOUGHT OR HOMEMADE RUB. I LOVE HOMEMADE!

Start by sprinkling a generous amount of dry rub on the tri-tip. Pat it to the meat and let it marinate for at least 2 hours.

Place the tri-tip on the smoker. Cook at 225°F for 1 1/2-2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 120-125°F.

Sear the tri-tip on the grill, smoker, or in a cast iron pan  until it has a nice crust.

Slice the steak against the grain and enjoy!

TIP!

If you don't have a smoker, you can also make this smoked tri-tip on a grill! It's super easy with just a few basic grilling tools.

CUTTING TRI-TIP

Tri-tip has two different grain directions. When you slice the tri-tip, make sure to cut where the grains intersect. Then, slice each section against the grain!

SERVING IDEAS

Use the tri-tip in tacos or burritos.

Serve the steak with chimichurri, peppercorn sauce, or BBQ sauce.

Use it in sandwiches, salads, or wraps!
