SIMPLE STRAWBERRY & APPLE CRUMBLE

with oat streusel topping

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS CRISP

It comes together in under 1 hour. It's cozy & perfect for autumn or summer! This is a great recipe for a dinner party. This crumble is SO easy to make.

INGREDIENTS

- APPLES - STRAWBERRIES - BROWN SUGAR - FLOUR - LEMONS - VANILLA - CINNAMON, CARDAMOM, & NUTMEG - SALT - OATS - SUGAR - BUTTER

Mix the apples, strawberries, brown sugar, flour, lemon zest & juice, vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, & salt.

Combine the oats, flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, & salt. Add the melted butter & mix until the topping is crumbly.

Tip the strawberry and apple pie filling into a deep 9-inch pie plate. Spread it evenly.

Then, sprinkle the oat streusel over the top of the filling.

Bake the strawberry and apple crisp until it's bubbling and browned on top. Let it cool for about 15-2o minutes before serving the crisp.

PRO-TIP

Before adding the sugar, taste the apples and strawberries. If they're really sweet, reduce the sugar by a a couple of  Tablespoons (26 grams).

HOW DO I KEEP THE TOP CRISP?

To keep the top crisp, make sure the crumble is completely cool before covering! You can also re-crisp the topping by baking it at 350°F for 10-25 minutes.

SERVING IDEAS

Add a scoop of vanilla or butter pecan ice cream

Enjoy this crisp with vanilla custard or vanilla whipped cream

Drizzle the crisp with salted caramel sauce
