EASY STRAWBERRY COMPOTE & COULIS

only 3 ingredients | 20 minutes

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS COMPOTE

It's so easy! Made in only 20 minutes. Just 3 ingredients. Great for cakes, ice cream, & so much more! Make it into coulis instead.

INGREDIENTS

- STRAWBERRIES - SUGAR - LEMONS (ZEST & JUICE) - VANILLA BEAN PASTE OR EXTRACT (OPTIONAL)

01

First, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, lemon zest, & lemon juice. Stir & set the heat to medium-low.

02

Bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook the berries for 10-15 minutes until the liquid is syrupy and the berries are very soft.

03

Remove the berries from the heat. Then, add the vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract, if using.

At this point, if you want coulis, blend the mixture & strain.

04

Let the compote or coulis cool completely. Then, store in jars and enjoy over all of your favorite desserts!

FREEZER FRIENDLY

Have leftovers? Just place them in a freezer-safe jar or container and freeze for up to 3 months. Defrost in the fridge overnight before serving.

TIP!

Strawberries not in season? No problem! You can use frozen berries in place of fresh. The compote might take a few more minutes to cook.

SERVING IDEAS
