THREE-INGREDIENT STRAWBERRY COULIS

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS RECIPE

It takes 20 minutes to make. This recipe only has three ingredients. It's freezer-friendly. Use it on cakes, cheesecake, waffles, & more!

INGREDIENTS

- STRAWBERRIES - WHITE SUGAR - LEMONS (ZEST & JUICE) - VANILLA BEAN PASTE OR VANILLA EXTRACT (OPTIONAL!)

In a saucepan, mix together the sliced strawberries, sugar, lemon zest, & lemon juice. Stir & set the pan over medium-low heat.

Bring the strawberry mixture to a simmer. Cook the berries for 15 or so minutes until the liquid is syrupy and the berries are soft.

Remove the berries from the heat. Add the vanilla bean paste or extract if you want to use it.

Blend the coulis in a blender until smooth. Strain to remove lumps.

HOW TO USE THIS COULIS

- Use it as a cake filling or on top of a cheesecake. - Spoon it over ice cream, pudding, or panna cotta. - Drizzle it over crepes, pancakes, waffles, & more!

TIP!

Make sure to taste the strawberries before adding sugar! If your strawberries are super sweet, use less sugar.

CAN I USE FROZEN STRAWBERRIES?

Definitely! Frozen strawberries work great and you can cook them right out of the freezer. Just add 2-3 minutes to the cook time.
