WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS PIE
It's ridiculously delicious.
The filling is made with fresh strawberries - no gelatin!
The brown butter streusel is amazing.
It's the best dessert for spring & summer!
- PIE DOUGH
- BROWN SUGAR
- VANILLA EXTRACT
Start by browning the butter. Then, mix the
flour, oats, sugar, brown sugar, and salt. Add the brown butter & stir until you have a crumble. Avoid over-mixing.
To make the filling, combine the strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla extract, & salt. Set aside.
Roll out the pie dough and place it into a pie plate. Crimp the edges & brush with egg wash.
Then, pour the fresh strawberry pie filling into the crust.
Sprinkle the brown butter streusel over the top & bake the pie until the filling is bubbly and the crust is deep golden-brown. Cool the pie completely.
CAN I USE FROZEN STRAWBERRIES?
Yes! If strawberries are not in season, you can definitely make this strawberry pie with frozen strawberries. Just let them thaw and discard any juices first.

Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Add a dollop of fresh whipped cream to the top of each slice.
Serve with either hot coffee or tea!
