THE BEST BEEF STROGANOFF

with shallots & brandy

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS RECIPE

It's cozy & comforting. The recipe is easy. It's great for a crowd or a simple weeknight dinner. The sauce is AMAZING. Everyone loves it!

INGREDIENTS

- ROUND STEAK - MUSHROOMS - SHALLOTS & GARLIC - BRANDY - BEEF BROTH - DIJON - SOUR CREAM - BUTTER & FLOUR - THYME & PARSLEY - SALT & PEPPER

Dry the beef strips. Coat with flour and season with lots of Kosher salt & freshly-ground black pepper.

Sear the beef until browned. Then, sauté the shallots & mushrooms until soft. Add the beef back to the pan.

Deglaze the pan with brandy & reduce. Add the beef broth, a bay leaf, Dijon mustard, thyme, salt, & pepper.

Simmer the beef until tender, about 1 1/2 hours.

Stir in the sour cream and warm for about 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley and you're ready to enjoy!

SERVING IDEAS

Eat with buttered egg noodles or white rice.

Serve over mashed potatoes or with warm crusty bread.

Add peas, green beans, or garden salad!

TIP!

For an affordable option, use top round or flank steak. For a quicker option, use sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip steak.

FOR UBER TENDER BEEF

To make tougher cuts of beef super tender, make sure to slice the beef against the grain and let it simmer for a long time. Cook it at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours!
