WHY IS IT THE BEST APPLE PIE?

INGREDIENTS

- BUTTER - FLOUR - SUGAR - KOSHER SALT - APPLE CIDER VINEGAR - APPLES - LEMONS - BROWN SUGAR - SPICES - CARAMEL SAUCE - EGGS

01 PIE DOUGH

Brown the butter. Cool & cut into chunks. Add to the dry ingredients with ice water. Knead until the dough forms. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.

02 THE FILLING

Slice the apples. Toss with lemon juice, flour, sugars, & spices. Fill the bottom pie shell & drizzle with caramel.

03 ASSEMBLE

Top with the second crust, crimp, & brush with egg wash. Bake until golden brown. Let the pie cool completely.

SERVING IDEAS

Add a scoop of  vanilla ice cream

Keep it simple with a dollop of whipped cream

Drizzle with extra caramel sauce

TIP!

Let the pie brown even when you think it’s done! Brown = flavor, so even if it looks done, let it have another 5-8 minutes to really crisp up the crust.
