CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE

with bourbon butterscotch

THE INGREDIENTS

- Pie crust - White & brown sugar - Cornstarch & salt - Egg yolks - Milk - Unsalted butter - Chocolate - Vanilla - Cream - Bourbon - Whipping cream - Powdered sugar

S T E P 1

Roll the pie dough and place in a pie plate. Fill with parchment paper & pie weights and bake halfway. Remove pie weights & bake until golden-brown.

For the pudding, whisk the sugar, cornstarch, milk, & egg yolks. Boil until thick. Off the heat, add the chocolate, vanilla, & butter until smooth. Cool.

For the butterscotch, heat the butter, brown sugar, & cream until smooth. Boil until thick. Off the heat, add the bourbon & vanilla.

To assemble, pour the pudding into the cooled pie crust. Smooth the whipped cream over the top & drizzle with the bourbon butterscotch.

Totally! Just make all of the steps 1-2 days in advance. Then, when you want to serve it, just assemble real quick & enjoy!

WHAT CHOCOLATE SHOULD I USE?

In this recipe, I used dark chocolate but you can also use milk chocolate or even semi-sweet!
