CHRISTMAS CINNAMON STAR BREAD

INGREDIENTS

- whole milk - active dry yeast - sugar - unsalted butter - vanilla extract - an egg - salt - all-purpose flour - egg wash - powdered sugar - cookie butter - cinnamon

01 MIX UP THE YEAST DOUGH

1. Mix the milk, yeast, & sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. 2. Once it's foamy, add the butter, vanilla, egg, salt, & flour. 3. Knead for 7 minutes & rise.

02 ASSEMBLE THE STAR BREAD

1. Mix the cookie butter & cinnamon. 2. Then, divide the dough into 4 pieces & roll each into a circle. 3. Stack the dough, spreading cookie butter between each layer.

03 CUT & TWIST

1. Cut 16 strips around the dough leaving a 2-inch circle in the middle. 2. Twist 2 adjacent strips away from each other & seal. 3. Repeat with the rest of the strips.

04 RISE & BAKE

1. Cover the star bread & rise until puffy, about 20 minutes. 2. Brush the star bread with egg wash & bake. 3. Garnish with powdered sugar. Enjoy!

PRO TIP!

For light & fluffy dough, don't add too much flour. The dough will be a little sticky! Also, make sure to knead it for a full 5-7 minutes to develop the gluten.
