BEEF STROGANOFF

with brandy & shallots

THE INGREDIENTS

- Round steak - Flour - Butter - Mushrooms - Shallots - Garlic - Brandy - Beef broth

- Bay leaf - Dijon - Thyme - Sour cream - Parsley - Salt - Pepper - Egg noodles

01 SEAR

Coat the steak strips in flour, salt, & pepper. Melt the butter in a large skillet. Sear the beef strips until they're browned.

02 SAUCE

Cook the shallots, mushrooms, & garlic. Add the beef & brandy. Mix in the broth, Dijon, bay leaf, thyme, salt, & pepper.

03 FINISH

Simmer the beef stroganoff until the sauce is thick and the beef is very tender. Add the sour cream & garnish with parsley. Enjoy with buttered egg noodles!

STORING LEFTOVERS

To store the leftover one-skillet stroganoff, spoon the leftovers into an airtight container. Refrigerate and store the stroganoff for up to 5 days.

TIP!

For tender stroganoff, make sure to cut the steak against the grain. Then, simmer the beef for at least 1 hour (preferably 1 1/2 hours).

CAN I USE OTHER CUTS OF STEAK?

Yes! Try flank steak for another affordable option. You can also use top sirloin, boneless ribeye, & New York strip steak.
