SLOW COOKER SAGE APPLE BUTTER

7 ingredients | 20 minute prep

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS BUTTER

It's so easy! You can prep it in 20 minutes. Just 7 ingredients. Great for cinnamon rolls, toast, biscuits, & more! It's cozy & perfect for fall.

INGREDIENTS

- APPLES - BROWN SUGAR - WHITE SUGAR - SALT - CINNAMON STICK - FRESH SAGE - VANILLA EXTRACT

01

Add the apples, sugars, salt, cinnamon, & sage to a slow cooker. Set to low for 8 hours or until the apples are very soft.

02

Once the apples are soft, remove the cinnamon stick and sage. Use an immersion blender (or regular blender) to purée the butter.

03

Add the cinnamon stick back to the butter and mix in the vanilla until the apple butter is smooth.

Cook the butter for another 2 hours until thick & dark brown.

04

Let the apple butter cool completely. Store in jars for up to two weeks or can the apple butter for long-term storage.

FREEZER FRIENDLY

Have leftovers? Place them in a freezer-safe jar and freeze for up to 3 months. This sage apple butter is also perfect for canning! This is a great option for longer-term storage.

TIP!

For this recipe, I like to use a mix of Fuji, Golden Delicious, and Honeycrisp apples. But you can use others like Pink Lady!
