Easy Baked Boursin Cheese (No Dredging)

Yield: 6 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
This is an easier take on the famous baked boursin cheese! All you need is five ingredients and five minutes of prep for a cheesy, crowd-pleasing appetizer. Drizzle the cheese with hot honey and add a sprinkle of chives for a pop of extra flavor. Seriously, everyone will be asking for this recipe!

Ingredients

  • 5.3 ounces homemade boursin cheese or store-bought (1 wheel/150 grams)
  • 1/4 cup Panko breadcrumbs (15 grams)
  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter, melted (15 grams)
  • Kosher salt and freshly-cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Hot honey, for drizzling
  • Fresh chopped chives, for garnish
  • Crusty bread or crackers, for serving

Equipment

  • Ramekin or small baking dish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a ramekin or small baking dish with neutral oil or cooking spray. Then, spread the boursin cheese into an even layer in the prepared ramekin/baking dish.
  • Next, combine the Panko breadcrumbs and melted butter in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Spread the breadcrumbs into an even layer over the boursin cheese.
  • Bake the cheese for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is hot and the breadcrumbs are golden-brown. If you want the breadcrumbs to be toastier, broil the cheese on HIGH for 1-2 minutes.
  • Drizzle the baked boursin with hot honey and garnish with a sprinkle of fresh chives. Enjoy with crusty bread or crackers.

Notes

One batch of my homemade boursin cheese makes about 10 ounces/2 wheels. You can either halve the homemade boursin recipe, make a double batch of baked boursin, or save the rest for another use.
If you double the recipe, use a shallow baking dish. You want more surface area for all of the buttery breadcrumbs!
Feel free to swap the toppings with whatever you have on hand. Use regular honey, add a sprinkle of chopped nuts, or use rosemary/thyme instead of chives. This recipe is versatile.
