Crispy prosciutto is my latest obsession, so obviously I had to use it on these prosciutto & burrata crostini! Topped with a drizzle of hot honey, this appetizer is super quick, easy, and full of flavor. And, all you need is 5 ingredients!
2Tablespoonshot honey,more to taste (30 milliliters)
Freshly-cracked black pepper,to taste
Instructions
Crispy Prosciutto
Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Working one at a time, fold each slice of prosciutto into a small pile. Space the piles on the prepared sheet pan about 1/2-inch apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the prosciutto is darkened and mostly crisp.
Remove the pan from the oven and let the prosciutto cool completely. It will crisp up more as it cools. Break the prosciutto piles into smaller, bite-size pieces.
Burrata Crostini
Divide the burrata between the crostini. Make sure to get both the mozzarella shell and the straciatella (the creamy curds inside the cheese) on each piece!
Place a few pieces of the crispy prosciutto on each crostini. Drizzle the crostini with hot honey. Sprinkle freshly-cracked black pepper on top for garnish. Enjoy!
Notes
Feel free to skip crisping the prosciutto for a no-cook app. Just pile freshly-sliced prosciutto on top of each crostini instead. This crostini is also amazing with a sprinkle of chopped pistachios on top!The crostini will get soggy after an hour or two, so I definitely like to serve this app right away.
