It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with boursin cheese whether it’s my homemade version or store-bought. But this dip is an excellent way to make it just a bit more special with spicy pepper jelly and a sprinkle of pistachios! I seriously make this dip every single time I need a ridiculously easy appetizer in less than 5 minutes. Also, everyone flocks to it at parties, so it’s really a no-brainer, you must give it a try!

If you ever get sad that you’re too old to trick-or-treat, might I suggest throwing a little Halloween bring-a-board party? Because that’s exactly what me and my friends did last weekend and it was actually the most fun! I, per usual, brought the cheese board which featured this gorgeous dip.

As you’ve probably figured by now, I am a big boursin cheese girl whether it’s stuffed into mushrooms or swiped over roast beef crostini. But this dip is about 1,000% easier than any other appetizer and every time I bring it to a party, it’s gone in minutes. So you may want to double it if you have a crowd!

For this dip, I used the homemade boursin I’ve been making since I was in culinary school. It’s super simple and a bit more affordable if you need more than one wheel. But obviously, store-bought is just as good, so go with whatever floats your boat!

Ingredients + swaps

A white plate of cheese, a brown bowl of pistachios, and a jar of pepper jelly on a tan marble counter.

When I make this recipe, I typically use pepper jelly and pistachios. But that’s just cause I like anything covered in pepper jelly. I’ve also tried this recipe with fig jam, raspberry preserves, and onion jam which is amazing.

If you don’t want to use pistachios, feel free to swap them with toasted pecans, walnuts, or almonds. For a nut-free version, leave them off or try a sprinkle of bacon crumbles instead!

3 quick steps

Start by spreading the cheese on a platter. I like to use a spoon to create pretty divots!

Next, spread the pepper jelly (or your jam of choice) evenly over the cheese.

Finish the dip with a sprinkle of toasted pistachios. Serve with crackers and bread!

I think the dip tastes better at room temp. Just let the cheese sit on the counter for about half an hour before serving!

Making the dip ahead of time

This dip holds up pretty well in the fridge, so if you want to make things easier, you can prep it a few hours in advance! Just cover the platter and refrigerate until 30 minutes before you’re ready to serve. Also, I would add the pistachios last-minute so they don’t get soggy!

3-Ingredient Boursin Dip with Pepper Jelly

Yield: 12 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
All you need is 3 ingredients and 5 minutes to make this amazing boursin dip! It has homemade (or store-bought) boursin, pepper jelly, and a sprinkle of pistachios for a little crunch – so, so good. To date, this is one of my most popular apps every time I bring it to a party. Serve it with butter crackers or crusty bread!

Ingredients

  • 1 batch homemade boursin (or 2 wheels of store-bought boursin)
  • 12 ounces pepper jelly (340 grams)
  • 1/4 cup shelled and roasted pistachios, roughly chopped (30 grams)

Equipment

  • Platter or large plate

Instructions

  • Use a spoon to spread the boursin cheese into a thin layer on a platter or large plate.
  • Spoon the pepper jelly over the boursin and sprinkle the pistachios on top.
  • Serve the dip with butter crackers, crusty bread, or homemade crostini. Enjoy!

Notes

My homemade boursin recipe makes about 10 ounces of cheese, which is roughly 2 wheels of boursin. (A standard wheel of boursin is 5.3 ounces.) So, if you’re using store-bought, you’ll need 2 wheels !
Feel free to swap the pepper jelly with fig jam, onion preserves, or raspberry jam. You can also use pecans, almonds, or walnuts in place of pistachios!
For the best flavor and texture, I recommend serving this dip at room temp. Just pull the boursin out of the fridge about 30 minutes before serving.
